We’re a bunch of “self-admitted and proud of it” Grown-up Geeks here at 40Tech – and I’m including you lot in that statement as well. We’re all here because we love tech, we love toys, and we love hanging out in a place where opinions are respectfully given and received. Sharing interesting bits of information and learning from each other is what 40Tech is all about – and that’s led me to wondering: What do you want to see more of on 40Tech?
We’ve written a fair bit on Evernote and productivity methods, as well as digital security and interesting hardware and software reviews (both mobile and desktop). What do you want to read more of? What do you guys want to talk about? Drop some suggestions in the comments, or contact us and suggest a post or two. Why do you read us? We really want to know!
Marianne says:
I started reading you because of your Google Wave alternatives series, and I’d like to see more of that!

Tony says:
Hate to break it to you, Marianne, but…Google Wave is old news.
October 14, 2010 — 2:35 am
Bobby Travis says:
Old news, sure, but the hunt for a suitable replacement is still a viable topic. As a matter of fact, I am currently testing a few other possibilities.

Bobby Travis says:
More Google Wave alternatives, Marianne, or just alternatives in general?
October 14, 2010 — 11:42 am
Tony says:
Web apps, apps in general. Round ups, tutorials/how-tos. WordPress related content.
October 14, 2010 — 2:34 am
Bobby Travis says:
Thanks Tony,
Some more posts on wordpress and site building/handling in general might be fun!

Love the productivity and evernote stuff. Maybe some video how to things or mild html?
October 14, 2010 — 7:17 am
Bobby Travis says:
Glad to hear it, John! I have actually been playing with the idea of doing some video posts. They take more time to produce than writing, so it’s a matter of scheduling — I think it could be a lot of fun, though. Some HTML related tips could be cool, for sure.

Web apps – learning about new ones. Anything that old farts might find interesting in general. Can not say there has been more than a couple of posts that did not interest me at all.
October 14, 2010 — 8:53 am
Bobby Travis says:
Web apps — we can do that! Stuff for old farts… check! :D

I like the posts on productivity and GTD. I would like to see posts on Android, specially about apps and upcoming Android-based tablets. Videos like the “homemade spacecraft” are also very interesting.

Bobby Travis says:
Glad to hear you like those posts, Luis — they are a labour of love, for sure! I would love to do some more Android-based work as well… if only someone would give me one! Ahh well, research works too. If there’s anyone out there that’s dying to share some Android tips and experiences, you guys are more than welcome to send us a guest post or 10! We’d love to hear from you! :D

Kosmo @ The Soap Boxers says:
Personally, I like topics of a legal nature, or something regarding the tech industry itself. “Is Google A Monopoly” for example.
The GTD stuff is probably my least favorite. Sorry :(
October 14, 2010 — 2:24 pm
Bobby Travis says:
Aww don’t apologize Kosmo! We can’t please everybody all the time, and diversity is a good thing. :D
I enjoy the occasional post of the “Is Google a Monopoly” ilk as well — they often provoke thoughtful discussion, which is a good thing. I’ll definitely put a few of those on my docket, as will Evan, I’m sure. It would be fantastic if you had a moment to spare to send in another guest post, as you tend to lead in with that kind of writing.

Kosmo @ The Soap Boxers says:
Hey, why not? Honestly, I’ve probably already written an article about Google and monopolies.
The only problem is that it is as widely scattered as Steven Wright’s famous collection of sea shells – in the comments of a variety of blogs spread hither and yon on the vast information superhighway.
I’ll try to hammer something out in the next few weeks.
I may write something on net neutrality as well.

Sounds good, man! Can’t wait to read them!
