I’m Evan, the guy behind 40Tech, and I like to scratch my tech itch whenever I get the chance.  I started this blog in 2009 to write about tech that interests me. Right now that leans toward Mac, the iPhone, and iPad, with a smattering of Windows coverage. Since I’m a lawyer, some of my posts may come from that perspective.

In the real world I have a great job that lets me help people. I’ve represented hundreds of clients over more than two decades, and I use technology, where appropriate, to get the best results for my clients. I’m a big believer that technology can be used to better communicate and persuade, and I frequently speak on both legal and technology topics at national and local seminars and conferences, including for the American Bar Association and at the MacTrack Legal Conference. Some topics I’ve covered have included using courtroom technology to maximize trial results, the ethics of tech, and mobile tools and workflows.

For the obligatory (and boring) lawyer bio stuff: I’m a 1990 graduate of Washington and Lee University and a 1993 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson Law. I’ve achieved an AV-Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and have been admitted to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. I’m an active member of the York County Bar Association, where I serve as a co-chairperson of the Civil Rules Committee and as a member of the Bench/Bar Committee. I’m also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. I’ve handled cases in more than ten counties across Pennsylvania, from the Philly suburbs, to central PA, to Erie. I’m admitted to practice before all Pennsylvania Courts and the United States Federal District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania.

I currently live half way between York and Lancaster, Pennsylvania with my beautiful wife and awesome daughter.  In my spare time, I love to spend time with my wife and daughter, dabble in tech (of course), brush up on my amateur photography and videography skills, and ski.
