10 Firefox Extensions to Die For

firefoxlove The sheer number of extensions available for Firefox sets it apart from other browsers.  The number of extensions, though, means that it can be difficult to find the hidden gems.  For that reason, I’m always interested in seeing what Firefox extensions other people are using.  To get the ball rolling, here are ten of my favorite Firefox extensions.  We’ll call this the “Evan Kline edition” to leave the door open for Bobby to come up with his own list in the future.  Also, please let us know in the comments which extensions you use, if you are a Firefox user. Evernote Windows Hack: Clip Web Pages as PDFs

Evernote pdf clipping in Windows One of the big differences between Evernote on the Windows and Mac platforms is that Mac users have the ability to clip web pages from Safari, and send those pages into Evernote as PDF files.  Windows users can clip pages to Evernote, but those pages aren’t sent as PDF files.  As a result, the pages often lose important formatting in the transition.

Firefox users on Windows can get similar functionality to their Mac counterparts by installing the PDF Download add-on, and then, when downloading a page as a PDF, selecting Evernote as the default program to open the file.  Read on for more detailed instructions.

Supercharge Your Firefox Browsing With Icons

smartbookmarks1One way to streamline your Firefox browsing experience is to move away from using the dropdown boomarks menu, and instead use the bookmarks toolbar.  To streamline the experience even further, and to fit more bookmarks on the toolbar, you can modify the toolbar so that the sites you frequently visit are accessible by a row of site icons (known as "favicons") across the toolbar.  There are two Firefox plugins to help you accomplish this.
