My wish for the Sept 12 Apple Event? A standalone Touch Bar keyboard. Yes, I might stand alone. The inability to use my custom-made (via BetterTouchTool) Touch Bar shortcuts on iMac is the single reason my Touch Bar usage on MacBook Pro has dropped off dramatically. #appleevent

@40Tech curious that there still isn’t one. I suspect it held back adoption of the touchbar, I’d place a bigger bet that the touchbar just disappears rather than spreads but I’d be happily proven wrong.

@ChrisJWilson I worry you might be right. While I could live without the Touch Bar, it would be a bummer. It occupies a weird space where it is useful for power users, and basic users who haven’t started with keyboard shortcuts, but less useful to that vast expanse of users in the middle.

@40Tech My MacBook Pro is primarily used with an external keyboard and monitor so I’d be all in too.

@40Tech absolutely. Although I’d bet that power users are also held back as they are more likely to use clamshell mode at least sometimes (prediction with no evidence).
