Here is information from my part of the ABA TECHSHOW 2019 session, Mac Mastery: Top Mac Workflows Used By Real Attorneys.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING KEYBOARD MAESTRO MACROS
- Make sure you’ve installed Keyboard Maestro
-
Download a macro at a link below.
-
Double-click the downloaded macro. It should automatically open Keyboard Maestro, with the new macro in the foreground.
-
The top right corner of the macro will display either an “X” or a checkbox. The “X” means the macro is inactive. The checkbox means it is active. If you see an “X,” click the “X” to make it active. It should change to a checkbox, and remain so going forward unless you click it again to make it inactive.
-
The macro should now work using the indicated shortcut.
ONE TIP . . .
The default keyboard shortcut to file Mail message to a mailbox on your favorites bar:
Control-Command-[Mailbox number, counting from the left]
USE AN APPLE MAIL PLUGIN TO QUICKLY FILE MAIL MESSAGES
- MsgFiler
-
Mail Act-On (Part of MailSuite)
THE DOWNLOADS
A. Grab links to email messages:
- The AppleScript
-
The Keyboard Maestro macro (includes the AppleScript)
-
There is a possibly even better way to insert email links, by David Sparks of macsparky.com
B. Delegate emails:
C. Client confirmation email Keyboard Maestro macro (prompts for date and time of meeting, office location, materials to bring to meeting – you will need to modify this with your details for it to be usable in your situation)
D. Sample Keyboard Maestro macro to click buttons to initiate a hashtag search in Filevine. This will give you an idea how to use Keyboard Maestro’s “click on found image” feature, but this won’t work for you because it uses images in my system, taken on my Mac.
