I am usually not a fan of these Karl van Hoet-style comments, but I just have to point out that the ScanSnap line has been cross-platform since 2009 when the S1500 and S1500M were released. As Joe mentions, the only difference is the bundled software and the colors. The scanners themselves work on either platform out of the box.

It is only the pre-2009 models that have this (admittedly goofy) distinction.
