Thanks for the inspiration. I always wanted to install Chrome on my MacBook Air, but couldn’t find a justification to do so. No I have one ;)
Another nice solution is to integrate KeyboardMaestro with AppleScript. See the KM screenshot here (for Safari).
It involves the KM Macro Switch to Specific Application and a small Apple Script that I found here.
I think this is an elegant solution. Another advantage is that the clipboard content remains untouched.
