The only issues i see are those of entrusting my game saves etc to a remote system i could not even point to on a map.
People will always want tangability for expensive purchases if possible it is inate to us and will not change due to this technological advance.
As a brit on virgins 120mb fibre network lag or connection outages are not a concern i have.
Having lived in the usa and used roadrunner i can’t see a big issue if companies continue to invest in fibre, exchange hardware etc you should be fine.
