Thanks for the tip, that's what I'll do. Really appreciate the how-to I have several email accts for different domains that I can now manage through one. Some use Google Apps, some don't.

Added bonus - I can now read and reply to all emails from all domains through my iPod Touch.

Hi David,

Yeah, the downfall of POP3 checking is that it checks about once per hour. If you are waiting for something though, you can go into your settings area and to your list of POP3 accounts and click check now.

Hope that helps!

Hey, great article. I set this up for the several email accts I'm using.

One complaint though. Have you noticed a delay in POP mail delivery? For example. I'll log into one of my accts that is forwarding mail and it will have unread email waiting to be sent. Then, it won't get sent to my One Inbox To Rule til maybe an hour later.

Yes, this is great for training other folks that I don't reply immediately to emails. However, I wasn't expecting this kind of delay.

You notice this at all with your setup?

I haven't been a fan of Google Apps since they cut back the free version's features and made it nearly impossible to sign up for and maintain (especially with the pointing of nameservers). I also had no idea there even -was- a paid version of Yahoo mail... people pay for email? Really...? O.o

Merging all of my email accounts into Gmail, was the best thing I ever did for productivity and general email management. Hotmail was an annoyance for a while, but they finally brought back POP3 access, making my single inbox complete. I still log in to Hotmail periodically though, as I tend to use it for my junk account and crank the spam settings. :D

Great stuff. I wish the free version of Yahoo mail had POP3 access. I use my old Yahoo account for incoming "bacon" email, and it would be nice to have Gmail pull that in. I do have about 3 or 4 accounts coming into Gmail right now.

I also use Gmail via Goolge Apps. There is a whole process to go through if you have your own domain, where you can point nameservers to Google Apps, which will get rid of the whole "via yourgmail@gmail.com" stuff, but that might be an article for another day. :)
